Wigs can be a game-changer for anyone looking for a new look or dealing with hair loss. However, not everyone knows how to style them, especially when it comes to heat-friendly synthetic wigs. Fortunately, I have three easy steps you can follow to curl your heat-friendly synthetic wigs like a pro. To help you remember those steps, I want you to remember the 3 C’s – (Curl, Clip Cool)

Before we dive into the steps, let me first share what items you'll need:

  1. Jon Renau HD Smoothing Spray
  2. A Comb or Brush
  3. Small metal clips
  4. A Styrofoam or mannequin head with T-pins
  5. Wig clamp
  6. A curling iron or straightener with a controlled setting (270° - 280°F)

Step 1 - CURL

Start by spritzing the synthetic wig with Jon Renau HD Smoothing Spray. Using a curling iron or straightener, curl small sections of the wig, holding it for about 6-7 seconds, to ensure the heat penetrates each strand. Once you have curled the section, it’s time to move on to the next step.  Repeat steps 1 & 2 until each section is completed.

Step 2 - CLIP

Now this step is crucial, for creating the desired curl patterns that last. Once you remove the curling iron you want to use your metal clips to pin each curled section. Make sure the curl stays in place or is disturbed while you move on to the next step.

Step 3 - COOL

The final step is to let your curls cool down completely.  This step is as crucial as the previous two because it helps set the curls and ensure they last longer.  Allow your wig to cool for about 5-10 minutes. Once the wig is cool, you can remove the clips and shake the curls to give them a natural, bouncy effect.

Conclusion:

Curling your heat-friendly synthetic wig doesn’t have to be complicated or stressful.  By following these three easy steps – Curl, Clip, and Cool – you can create stunning, bouncy curls or soft waves in no time. The key to success is to practice and experiment with different heat settings, sectioning, and curling techniques to find what works best for you and your wig. So don't be afraid to try new things and have fun styling your heat-friendly synthetic wig. With these tips, you can rock any style you desire with confidence.  So why wait?
