If you have long hair you may be wondering if you can still wear a wig. It may sound impossible, but it can be done. The key factor when wearing a wig with long hair is to make sure your own bio hair is tightly secured against your head. Other wise you will never feel comfortable wearing a wig.
Which is why I want to share from my personal wig journey, tips on how you can wear a wig even with long hair. With a few simple steps you can have your hair up and your wig secure in no time. So, let's take a look at those steps now.
How to secure your hair for putting on a wig.
1st - I secure my hair by either braiding or flat wrapping and then securing with several bobby pins. Make sure all bobby pins are down and not extended out.
2nd - Make sure your hair is as flat as possible and mimics the natural shape of your head.
3rd - Then put a wig cap over your own hair. I prefer the mesh wig cap, which is more like fishnet compared to the smooth nylon wig cap material. This helps to keep your hair in place and prevent any slippage.
4th - For added security I like to use the It-Stays roll on adhesive. It-Stays is a water soluble product so you can safely remove your wig at the end of the day without damaging your hair.
5th - Last I position my lace front wig and gently press down along the lace for about 10 seconds. After that my wig is secure and does not move until I take it off.
There you have it! A few of my personal tips on how to wear a wig even if you have long hair. With these steps, you can put your wig on with no problem and know that it will stay secure all day.
